Flashe on Canvas

This circular canvas, primed in flat black, is covered with thousands of hand painted white dots that emanate from the center in a tight spiral. The artist's application of these dots involves both constant counting (the number of dots between dips of the brush) and circling of the canvas. Both these acts evoke time, yet another measure of endurance. Additionally, the piece refers to the endurance of the artist as it has recorded her varying levels of concentration and fatigue, as well as her starts and stops.
