Muddy Water Circle 1994

This piece, as the title suggests, consists of mud smeared and splattered directly onto the gallery wall in the form of a circle. The fact that mud is used as opposed to white paint is of great significance. Soil (mud) is one of our most tangible links to the earth. It's the origin of the food that allows us to endure. While her survival has been called into question, there are few symbols as representative of endurance as our own planet earth.
